Dictionary definition: A belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty A personal view, attitude, or appraisal
With the lead up to the EU Referendum so many people voiced their opinions as to what would happen if we voted to come out, also what would happen if we decided to stay.
But that based purely on their opinion, their own personal opinion! So isn’t it sad when people actually take on board what they are saying and believe it with complete and utter certainty. It breeds fear, stress and concern and this is not helped by the media either. One minute they publish a sensationalist headline, the next day a completely opposing one appears, the poor old British public is pulled one way then the next.
Who do we believe and how do we know right from wrong?
Perhaps we all need to keep in our minds that these comments are one person’s opinion, their best guess on the possible outcome, rather like trying to ascertain what the value or suit is of the next card drawn from the pack. Now, it may be that they have a background in finance, the stock market etc but can anyone, with total certainty, predict the outcome of us leaving the EU? I don’t think so, but that is my own opinion or belief.
Can anyone fully predict our future? Even a good medium will say that they can only get it 60% right on a good day, the rest is then up to us as individuals.
This newsletter is not to say leaving the EU is right or wrong, we are so let us all pull together, stop worrying about what might have been, we will still be trading with the EU and I for one will still be visiting France, Germany, Italy etc as often as I can. Europe is beautiful and vast, full of wonderful sights and people, just like us here in the UK.
Perhaps we need a visitation from another star system to get us to function as one planet rather than lots of fragmented countries all scrabbling for superiority, money and religion. We are one people, amazing talented individuals, who, pulling together can make such a difference.
I hope that Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, got it right when we reach a time of no strife, no need for money and we are united as one people.
I hope that you enjoy this newsletter and don’t forget this is only voicing my opinion.
